The inception of medicine and scientific research was riddled with racism and exploitation. Healthcare was, and still is, used to legitimize socially constructed hierarchies like racism and sexism. Unfortunately, the harmful legacies of eugenics and medical racism still plague healthcare and sex ed. In this presentation, we will discuss how racism and queerphobia impact healthcare and health education. Moreover, we will make connections between the start of eugenics and the revival of the Great White Replacement Theory which targets the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
